Welcome

Welcome to our school website
Thank you for showing an interest in our school. We hope this website will be helpful, giving you an insight into life at Stanne. Sidwell’s Church of England Primary and Nursery school

St. Sidwell’s is a one-form entry school that caters for children from age 3 to age 11.
In September 2006, we moved into a brand new, state of the art school building, which has been very successful and which the children take great pride in. St. Sidwell’s is a happy, successful school where children of all abilities have made very good progress over recent years compared with schools nationally. We have a multi-ethnic, multi-faith pupil population which we value and which enriches the experience of us all

We have 8 well-equipped, comfortable classrooms, including an Early Years Foundation Stage unit for Reception and Nursery aged children. To complement this, the grounds were developed during 2007 to provide an attractive space for learning and play. The grounds include circular playground areas with a range of markings, an adventure trail, a multi-use games court, lots of grassed space, a small orchard, a wildlife area with a pond, a sensory garden,  and a vegetable plot! These are in addition to the amphitheatre that has been created adjacent to the classrooms.

We are now pleased to be able to offer breakfast and after school clubs, run in the school by existing members of staff, and we hope this will support those parents/carers in need of quality childcare beyond the school day.We are proud of the caring, welcoming Christian ethos that pervades our school and which is commented on routinely by visitors. This was one of several "outstanding" aspects of the school highlighted by Ofsted in September 2006, along with the "exemplary" behaviour of the children who are happily engaged in the exciting, relevant curriculum which we offer. The report can be read by clicking here and I would encourage you to read it. We are confident that the judgements will be even more positive when we are next inspected.

We hope you will wish to visit the school and see for yourself how happy, confident and successful children are in our school. We have a strong home/school partnership which is valued by us all and we do everything we can to make parents feel welcome in school and actively involved in their child’s education. This enables children to make the most of everything the school has to offer. catmiuse

Please contact the school office if you would like to come and meet me, have a tour of the school and ask any questions you may have. We hope you will choose to join us and that you and your child will have a very happy, successful time at St. Sidwell’s. We shall look forward to getting to know you.

Anne Hood.
