Design and Technology
Why?
We want our pupils at St Sidwell's to learn Design and Technology, so that:
- Their creativity, imagination and lateral thinking are encouraged
- They learn skills that enable them to create real and imaginary works to solve problems and challenges
- They explore and discuss the impact of design and technology on their lives, critiquing and evaluating current designs
- They can design their own projects; create by applying taught skills and evaluate, suggesting changes that would make their work meet design criteria more effectively
What?
We have built our Design and Technology curriculum using the DT Association's 'Projects on a Page' resource.
How?
We teach one Design and Technology unit each term.
Who?
Mrs Hallett leads Design and Technology in our school, from Nursery to Year 6.
