End of SATs Beach Trip - Monday 15th May 2023
Following great effort in their SATs test last week, Year 6 journeyed by bus to Exmouth. Once they were there, they played happily together on the beach, got an ice cream and even had a paddle in the sea.
Thank you for FOSSS for allowing us to have an ice cream, which wouldn't be possible without the support of the events such as discos, bake sales and fairs.
Year 6 have a great day making memories together. They are looking forward to the rest of their time together before moving on to secondary school in September.
Art - Shadow Puppets
This half-term in art, we are exploring the work of Lotte Reiniger. We have explored her work and learnt some interesting facts about her, such as that she was the first person to create an animation film and not Walt Disney as it is popularly believed. We also discovered how her type of art has inspired may other pieces of work including 'The Tale of the Three Brothers' from a Harry Potter film.
In our learning, we will take inspiration from her work and explore both traditional and contemporary artists and craftspeople using intricate cutouts to create artwork which is meaningful to the culture in which it is created. The children will them work in collaboration to create shadow puppets
