Autumn 2020

Developing Gross and Fine Motor Skills November and December 2020
Nursery children are growing and learning very fast! While they are playing they are building strength and coordination as well as developing their spacial awareness. This is vital experience for them which will enable them to learn to control small tools such as scissors and to manipulate writing materials when they make marks, draw and write. All these skills are learned naturally as children play, especially when they are outside where they can use their whole bodies in so many different ways!
Exciting Ice! December 2020
We love it in Nursery when we come to school and discover that the rain has turned to ice overnight! In these pictures you will see the children exploring the shapes and qualities of ice, how it can be smashed and what happens as it warms up.
Outdoor Learning October 2020
We have a wonderful time learning outside where we can be messier, riskier and noisier than indoors! Children enjoy playing with mud, water, sand and large building materials all year round. There are many opportunities for learning in these ways including learning to be safe and take turns, how to share, looking after one another, the environment and the creatures that live in our grounds.
Sometimes, children will get muddy and wet when they are playing. Please make sure your child has a full set of warm dry clothes in school in case they need to get changed at Nursery.
