Summer 1 2021

Plant it, grow it, eat it
We have been planting. Thank you everyone who has donated plants.
Welcome back and here's hoping for a sunny half term of good growing weather. Please let me know if you have any plants going spare. We are aiming to plant a wildflower mini meadow, African sack gardens of edible plants alongside planting some flowers on our grass slope outside the classroom so that it is more exciting to look out on.
Here is the Year 2 Newsletter for the half term and our knowledge organiser can be found further down the page.
Please also refer to dates in 'The Bell'.
A quick reminder -
PE is on a Tuesday afternoon.
Outdoor learning will be on a Friday as a minimum.
The children do not need to wear school uniform but can attend school in PE kit (Wednesdays) or own clothes (Thursday.
Here is the knowledge organiser for this half term.
These common exception words are for Year 2. I will be looking to see if the children spell them correctly in their work this term. You may recognise some from our 'challenge' spelling lists. You may like to print these off for your child to use or to help them learn any they cannot spell yet.
Please see below for  the weekly spelling lists for the Year 2 spellings.
These will be on your child's spelling shed account.
We are trying to learn the names and features of some common trees.
The children were excited to explore a silver birch, a pear tree and an apple tree today.
