PE Days
We have PE on Monday and Thursday. Your child can come to school wearing their PE kit on these days. If your child has earrings they must be removed on these days for safety reasons.
Reading at home
Children are expected to read at home for 10 minutes each day (little and often is best); please discuss the text with your child and make a record of what they have read on their Seesaw reading journal.  The children will have an opportunity to change their reading books in the afternoons independently, after they have read it three times. We hear each child read everyday as part of our Read Write Inc sessions. We regularly assess each child and when they are ready to move onto the next colour band we will let you know.

Please see our separate Read Write Inc page for information and resources to support your child at home.

We are also very lucky to have access to the online library on the Oxford Owl website. This is a fantastic resource as it allows us to send home a copy of the book your child is reading in their phonics group at school. In their group they will read this text three times to support them with fluency. Last year we really noticed a difference in the children's reading if they also read this book at home with their parents. Some of you may still have your log in details from last year, which should still work. If not, please ask and we will send you a copy. When you log on you should be able to see the book that we have set for your child. When they have read the book they can complete the onscreen quiz to check their understanding. There are also some new phonics quizzes that we will be assigning for them to have a go at too. We will be able to see when your child has read their online book and you can read it more than once.

We use Seesaw to record and share what's happening in the classroom. Every child will have their own journal to upload photographs, videos and drawings. We will also use the platform to keep you updated about events and with ways that you can support your child at home.

You will have been sent details of how to login but if you have any questions please do get in touch.
